Guidelines for Offering Educational Classes at Rutland Area Food CoOp
Did you know that the CoOp offers space for community classes? We’ve hosted instructors presenting hands-on craft workshops, cooking demos, and discussion groups. If you’re interested in offering a workshop, please read the following guidelines before contacting us via e-mail or at 802-773-0737. We look forward to hosting your event!
All workshops must coincide with Co-op’s hours of operation
(Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m)
Option One
Minimum of 5 students pre-registered in order for the class to run, drop-ins welcome
Registration Fees: (Fee can be increased if additional workshop materials are included)
- members – $10 per class
- non-members – $15 per class
Educators are paid minimum of 50% of total registration
Educator provides:
- Expertise
- Time
- teaching and prep
- promotion (beyond the CoOp’s contribution)
- set-up and clean-up
- copies
- Additional supplies: this includes food, packaging vessels, etc.
– Could be added onto the cost of the class (would have to order ahead of time) OR
– Teacher provides and CoOp reimburses
Co-op provides:
- in-store promotional poster
- electronic promotion via Facebook and website
- space
- registration process
Option Two
Educator:
- rents the space from the CoOp
- sets own price
- provides all materials
- takes all registrations
- provides expertise
- provides course material (including copies)
- provides all supplies required for workshop
- does all set-up and clean-up
Educator is offered discount if supplies are ordered through store (10 days prior to workshop)
Space Rental Rate: $15 per hour to include set-up and clean-up time
Co-op provides:
- promotional via in-store poster, Facebook & website
- space
