Blood Orange Hot Toddy

Before you reach for the cough syrup, give one of these a try. With fresh blood orange juice, this toddy is also high in Vitamin C and antioxidants. Cold or no, a hot toddy can help warm the body on a cold winter’s night.

  • 8 ounces hot water
  • black tea
  • 1 blood orange
  • 1 shot whiskey
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Instructions
  1. Steep the tea (loose or with a tea bag) in the hot water for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Slice the blood orange in half and squeeze out the juice.
  3. Combine the orange juice with the hot tea, whiskey, lemon juice and honey. Stir to combine.
  4. Garnish with the cinnamon stick and serve.
Recipe Notes

Adding in cold juice to the hot tea will cool it down a bit. For a hotter toddy, warm the juices and whiskey before adding to the tea.
